Our specialist advice workers provide advice to asylum seekers and to new refugees.
We can help you with advice & advocacy on:
What we cannot help you with
We cannot help with your asylum application, your asylum appeal, or with representing you at an asylum hearing. The law says that only qualified solicitors or legal representatives can do this. We can give you a list of local qualified solicitors.
Ring our advice line on 0117 941 5962 and speak to an advice worker. The line is open:
Monday 2pm - 4.30pm
Tuesday 10am - 12.30pm
Thursday 2pm - 4.30pm
Friday 10am - 12.30pm
What if you can't afford the phone credit and don't speak english?
Don’t worry! All we need is your phone number and your language. We can ring you back, with an interpreter on the phone too if you need one.
Come to our ‘open door’ advice session:
Monday 10am – 12.30pm
Thursday 10am – 12.30pm
The entrance gate is at:
9 Hide Market
Waterloo Street
Bristol BS2 0BH.
Drop-in sessions can be very busy, so ring our advice line 0117 9415962 instead if you can.
Appointments
Speak to an advice worker on the advice line or at the drop-in. They will offer you an appointment if that is the best way of dealing with your problem.
Advice to organisations working with asylum seekers & refugees
We can provide you with advice about how to work out someone’s asylum status, what their entitlements may be, and what to do next. We can also give you local information on refugee support groups and services, and on immigration solicitors.
Call us during office hours on 0117 941 5960
All the above services are available to people in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We will either give you advice ourselves, or give you information about local services in your area which can help.
