Our One Stop team in Leicester works in partnership with many local agencies, both statutory and voluntary, to ensure a better, more holistic service is available for asylum seekers.
In 2000 we set up the Voluntary Sector Forum and we continue to play a key role in it as Chair and Vice Chair, as well as the Multi Agency Forum, which we also chair. As part of our involvement we take part in planning activities for Refugee Week and we have coordinated and organised the publishing of surveys of destitute asylum seekers in Leicester over the last 5 years.
Additionally, we are active members of Leicester’s New Arrivals Strategy Group and the Charnwood Refugee and Asylum Seeker Forum. Refugee Action has a seat on the Management Committee of Leicester City of Sanctuary.
We belong to the East Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership, of which we are an active member and we are involved in the various EMSMP Task Groups.
We are interested in developing various projects and are open and receptive to working with partners in developing new initiatives.
