TRIO Policy and Information Network

Funded by Big Lottery for 3 years, TRIO (Thematic Regional Infrastructure Organisation) project is a partnership between Refugee Action, Lesbian and Gay Foundation and One North West. The project’s main objective is to support organisations dealing with Refugees and Asylum seekers, Gay and Lesbians as well as BME to play a more important role in influencing policies concerning those groups both at the regional and local level.

The project has the following outcomes:
  • Increase Knowledge by building and maintaining a regional intelligence base, translating relevant policies, providing briefings, bulletins, fact sheets etc, and encouraging peer-learning through networking opportunities.
  • Increase Policy Influence over regional policies and strategies for Refugee and asylum seeker communities, by involving, consulting with, representing and promoting their views in shaping regional policy / strategy.
  • Increase Network Support by recruiting more Voluntary and community sector groups and Refugee community organisations to our networks and providing a framework for networking, that leads to greater sharing of good practice and information.
  • Increase Shared Understanding between project partners on pan equalities issues affecting BME, LGB&T and RAS communities.
