We helped 10,645 women to build a future last year
Each week we help more than 200 women* who have fled to the UK in a desperate attempt to escape persecution and abuse. We help these women and their families to find sanctuary and understanding. This year we want to help hundreds more.

**Sanaz fled from Pakistan to the UK and told us:
“During my marriage my teeth were broken, I have a scar on my lips where they have been sewn up, and my fingers were broken. I had a daughter then became pregnant again. I had to flee because my husband and in-laws were beating me and threatening me and my life was in danger.”
She arrived in the UK alone, and had to try and cope as a single parent without friends and family in unfamiliar surroundings. Sanaz became lonely and withdrawn, scared to leave her home. We encouraged her to go to one of our projects that provide support and advice to isolated, frightened women.
“I have gained so much more confidence and lots of friends. Before, I was scared to go outside. But now I can do many more things. In the future I would like to go to college. I want to be able to go to work and build a good future for my daughter.”
We offer vital support and advice to women like Sanaz, helping them to find work and to settle in their community and make friends.
