30 years ago we set out to help people who come to the UK feeling for their lives. Refugees have survived armed conflicts and brutal persecution. Forced to leave their home, friends and family, and travel to a safe country in just the clothes they stand in. Yet one of the biggest challenges they face is making a new life here in the UK.

At Refugee Action, we believe in sharing the freedoms of our country with those who have escaped terrible situations in theirs. We want to ensure that in the next 30 years and beyond, we can continue to make refugees feel welcome, give support and advice to help them become independent again and actively campaign for refugee rights.
