What a year it’s been. We’ve seen the passing of the hateful anti-refugee bill, refugees being forced to live on barges, and the heart-breaking conflict between Israel and Gaza. We know it can be easy to feel powerless – but you’re not. You do have the power to make a difference.

Join our incredible team of festive activists this December, and help us end the year by raising as much money as possible for refugees and people searching for safety.

Whatever you choose to do, our fundraising team Hollie and Rebecca will be here to support you and cheer you on. And because we know you’re a busy lot, we’ve gathered our favourite fundraising ideas below to help you get started. 

Replace Christmas traditions with donations

Got an hour to spare? Swap your Christmas traditions for an act of kindness. Here are some tried and tested ideas for an easy but impactful fundraiser.

💚 Make your own Christmas cards or decorations and sell them to friends and family.

💚 Instead of sending Christmas cards, donate what you’d spend on stamps and packs of cards, and ask your pals to do the same.

💚 Ask your workplace or friends to make donations instead of the usual Secret Santa gifts.

Party for refugees

Got a few hours to plan something incredible? Gather your family and pals and host a festive fundraiser. Here are some of our favourite ideas to get you started.

💚 Ask your employer to host a company-wide Christmas Jumper Day in December

💚 See if your office Christmas party could be in aid of Refugee Action, either with donations at the door or a festive raffle

💚 Gather your friends and family for a festive feast or drinks at yours, and ask for donations in return

Move for refugees

Feeling energetic and wanting to get physical while doing good? Grab your trainers and get moving for refugees.

💚 Join a Santa fun run in your area. Here’s a handy list of ones throughout the country!

💚 Gather your pals and do a winter walk or chilly sea dip for Refugee Action. Challenge yourself with a big distance to give people a reason to sponsor you.

💚 Do your own thing, whether it’s with your bike, on your feet or however else you like to move.
