Research Officer

Part time – 21 hours per week, with flexible home working
One year contract funded until December 2022

We’re looking for a Research Officer to lead the coordination of research and data gathering for the Insight Hub. The Hub was established in April 2020 through the Respond and Adapt Programme (RAP), as a sector wide initiative to support UK organisations in the refugee and migration sector to cope with the Covid 19 pandemic.

Through regular surveys, the Hub gathers and shares data on current needs across the sector to inform service design and adaptation and bring people together to discuss their experiences. You can read the 13 bulletins produced to date on the Good Practice and Partnerships website.

The Research Officer will be part of Refugee Action’s Good Practice & Partnerships Team and line managed by the Insight Hub Manager.

This newly created role will lead on the collection, analysis and distribution of Hub survey data, linking with sector organisations throughout the process. It will also support the GPP team to strengthen its Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activities and data management processes.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
• Insight into the needs, experiences and hopes of people who are refugees, those seeking asylum and wider migrant communities
• Experience using/understanding monitoring and evaluation practices
• Experience developing and delivering high quality research projects
• Analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex information and summarise key points in a strategic way
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write in accessible ways for a range of audiences
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Ability to work with competing priorities and meet deadlines
