Pathways to Work – self-referral form

Pathways to Work is a project providing pre-employment support to refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants. The project consists of an 8-week block of employability group sessions, followed by 8-12 weeks of 1:1 mentoring.

You will need:

  • An ability to communicate in English without an interpreter. Your English level needs to be Entry 2 upwards, but we can assess your English language level if you are unsure. If you are at beginner level, you should consider an ESOL course in your local area before you join this programme
  • Employment-related aspirations (i.e you. to want to obtain a job/work experience, start a training course or further education and/or secure a volunteering opportunity)
  • To be available for the course on a Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 4pm. (You will have a 2 hour session on these days, but for timetabling purposes we need clients who are available during these times.)

You will be supported to improve your communication skills, English language and confidence in navigating the UK job market, and to apply for a job, work experience or volunteer placement. Both group sessions and 1:1 mentoring will be tailored to your needs and goals and to your ESOL level.

Group sessions and 1:1 mentoring are being delivered via Zoom.
