By September 3, 2015October 25th, 2016Press release

Today the Guardian reported that Prime Minister David Cameron is set to announce a significant increase in the number of Syrian refugees accepted by the UK.

Stephen Hale, Chief Executive of Refugee Action said:

“We welcome the Prime Minister’s comments and are hoping for a clear commitment on the resettlement of Syrian refugees.

“It’s encouraging to see the Prime Minister responding to the change in the public mood in this way but the response must be proportionate to the needs presented by the crisis.

“No refugee can take comfort from his words until a definite commitment to resettlement is made.”
