A legal lifeline for homeless refugees and asylum seekers in London
There are many reasons why vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees end up on the streets. They may have been victims of exploitation or violence, illegally kicked out of housing, lost their claim for asylum or simply have no support networks to help them.
Our Street Legal program partners with the homeless charities St Mungo’s and Praxis to specifically tackle the issue of refugee and asylum seeker homelessness in London.
It is important that we reach homeless refugees and asylum seekers as they may be at risk of being trafficked, have complex health needs, or not be aware of support they are entitled too.
Street Legal is a partnership between St Mungo’s, Refugee Action and Praxis Community Projects, operating across London. Working with street outreach teams from St Mungo’s, Street Legal provides legal advice directly to this vulnerable and isolated group. The aim of the partnership is to get more hard-to-reach people off the streets and into help.
