Report: a best practice model for NGO delivery of assisted voluntary return
From April 2011 to November 2015, Refugee Action’s Choices service delivered the UK’s assisted voluntary return (AVR) programme.
This provided people considering returning voluntarily to their home country with independent, impartial advice and support. It was the first national assisted voluntary return programme to be delivered entirely by non-governmental organisations.
In this report, Refugee Action’s Voluntary Return Good Practice team outline how NGOs delivering assisted voluntary return can achieve best practice – delivering this important service in a way that is appropriate, successful and sustainable.
