Refugee Action runners were out in force on a sunny Sunday 21st September for the 2014 Bristol Half Marathon. As an official charity partner of the race, it was our biggest sports event to date. 160 runners hit the streets of Bristol to run for the wellbeing and dignity of refugees in the UK – making us very proud indeed!
Among our runners, we were really excited to have a celebrity in the form of Joe Thomas, who plays Simon in The Inbetweeners. We also had six refugees on our team – Ullabiy, Nima, Nathan, Suranga, Khaled and Mohammed – who all completed the race, despite most of them never having tried distance running before.
Massive thanks to all our runners, volunteers and the Bristol Half Marathon organisers for this fantastic day! Find out how you can join us for future events.
