Welcome! And peace be with you in this land, even if it is far from home. We have been looking at your faces on the television and at the heart-breaking destruction in your country, at your terrible journeys to cross sea and land to come here. Welcome and peace. May you make many friends here and find work and love and all the things that make life worthwhile. Some people here are afraid of you, that you will bring war with you in your heart. God be in all our hearts, and guide us together in the ways of peace and good will.
