Welcome to the UK! Like you, I wasn’t born here but came here almost 20 years ago looking for a place where I didn’t have to look over my shoulder to see if somebody wanted to kill me. Unlike you, I came by plane and never risked my life once I left my country ever again…I was that lucky! I am very happy that you are joining us here in the UK and I hope that you find it as welcoming and safe as I have. The most precious thing in the world is to feel safe and be at peace.
